Rain...and wind....and hail oh my!

Quite the little storm we got last night. Our power went out twice, but thank goodness immediately came back on both times. I think we are in for a really crazy year of weather.

This Monday was only started the week only slightly better than last week ended. That's not saying much, but I will take it! This week I am determined to have a better attitude towards things this week than I did last week.

Please pray for my great uncle James. He survived a heart attack this weekend but is now suffering from severe lung issues. He and his family need prayers. Also, please pray for my Grandpa who is trying to recover and stay out of the hospital from a serious bout with pneumonia.

I'm thinking alot about my family, Allen's family, and our friends today. You all have no idea how important you are to us.

Made it through....

Well we both made it through the work week. Allen is sleeping in bed and I'm about to head to the stores for my weekly grocery shopping. I barely made it through this week. I promise you if the week had six days instead of five, I would have called in sick today. Not playing hooky either. I would have literally, physically been ill if we had to go to work today. THAT is how bad of a week I had at work. I haven't had a bad week in a long time. I don't cope with it very well at all! It doesn't help that we had another snowfall this week. See! I knew it! All that warm weather was just a tease. And now everyone is saying that the Farmers Almanac has predicted another massive snow storm in March. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It's only 7:45 a.m. and I'm already enjoying this day 500% more than any other day this week.

I have a major head cold, can't breathe, and HUGE fever sore. Gross.
On the upside, Allen is having a pretty good week at work, and tomorrow is Thursday already.

Yay sunshine!

Two nights in a row of beautiful sunsets. Two days of wonderful weather. I know spring isn't here yet but today reminded me so much of why I love spring. I even scarfed my lunch down super fast so that I could walk outside for the rest of my lunch hour (which by the way is not an hour...just 30 minutes...)

So, what do we think about this weather? Well, Allen and I think the few robins he has seen around outside have been fooled. We will enjoy this while it lasts though! :)

Exciting....

I didn't get to weigh in tonight at a Weight Watchers meeting, but I did get to weigh myself yesterday on the scale at work, and I have lost a total of 14.1 lbs! YAY! :) I feel great! I will feel even better the more I lose. It's so exciting. I've NEVER in my life been able to really lose weight. I have yo-yo'd a little bit, but mostly, I've just gained and gained and gained. So this is huge for me. I'm super excited. Also, I had my first meeting at work with the health champions. I've joined a sub committee, the "communication/education and corporate goals" committee, and I am really excited about this. I wasn't the only "bigger" girl there, and I really felt like I'm now being taken seriously as someone who has good ideas at work, instead of another worker drone.

Good News!

I forgot to blog this before, but Allen's headache cycle is officially over. The melatonin really helped him sleep and avoid too many headaches. Although the ones he had were seriously painful for him, this was a relatively short cycle with fewer headaches than normal.

My best friend asked me to marry me him. I am so grateful every day that God blessed me with such a wonderful man to share my life with. I am so excited to see what direction he will take us together. I could write book on here about how much I love my husband, but I better get to bed. Love you all! Happy Valentines Day!

I heard this song for the first time a couple weeks ago and cannot get it out of my head. All day long at work I'm humming this in my head. LOL. Read the lyrics and you will understand why I hear it in my head at work! :)

So about that EPIC picture post....

Well tonight was the night I had decided I was finally going to post the epic picture post of the pics from the holidays, however when I started I quickly realized the task was impossible. I took WAY too many good pics of both sides of the family to be able to pick and choose which ones I would post. So.....if any one wants to see the pics and hasn't seen the pics. Shoot me an email , and I will see what I can do about getting you a copy of the pics. Otherwise, the epic post is not happening. I took over 300 pictures between Halloween and New Years. WAY WAY WAY too many to even begin choosing which ones would make it to the holiday picture post. Sorry to disappoint. LOL!

I didn't have a weight loss from last week to this week, but it's my special time of the month again (come early this time) , so I wasn't suprised. I only gained a little bit and by next week it will be gone. No worries. I am still right on track w/ the expected one to two pounds per week, so I feel good about it!

Allen hasn't had a headache all week! :)

Hmmm.....no news is good news right?

I don't usually talk too much about church on here, but the past two Sundays in a row have both been two of the best sermons I have heard in my life. We are so blessed to have been led to a church that we really feel at home. There are soooo many good things I could say about our church, but Chuck Sackett is one of the best speakers, (church or not...) that I've ever listened to. His passion is contagious.

I feel the need to share these two sermons because they moved me so deeply. If you are able to listen to either one, be sure to listen to the whole thing. It's important because Chuck always ties everything together and punches it home at the end.

Seriously?

More snow....how much more of this winter white stuff can we handle? UGH!

Allen went all weekend without a headache. Which is good, he thinks his cycle is coming to a close. He isn't in the clear yet, but he did say he can feel the "chaos" subsiding, which is a good sign.

I have been feeling all out of sorts today. I really think it's this weather. I can't wait for some SUN!

At church on Sunday Chuck was talking about his daughter and her husband living in Scotland where it gets dark at 3:30 in the afternoon. I don't think I could handle it!

Today a guy called me at work and said, "We are just overwhelmed by this amount of paperwork we have. Is there someone that gets paid to figure this stuff out?" I desperately wanted to say something smart alec, but just cheerfully said, "That's what we're here for..." Such an ironic question...lol.

A new restaurant venture...

Tonight Allen and I went out to eat at the new Chinese restaurant in town, Jet's Palace. It is not a buffet restaurant, instead you have to order from the menu. We each picked something and shared, half and half, and then we each only ate half of our food! :) (Patting myself on the back for not overindulging in some SERIOUSLY delicious Chinese!) Now we both have an amazing lunch for tomorrow! The food was awesome, and the price is right if you consider the fact that you are getting four servings out of two plates! MMmmmmm! We will probably eat there again very soon.

I am working some overtime tomorrow and then going grocery shopping while Allen sleeps. Then I think we are just going to spend some alone time watching some movies together. That's the plan anyways! :)

10 lbs!

Well, I reached ten pounds lost! YAY! :)

Allen had to work last night. His shift was the only shift that had to go in. He wasn't very happy about it, but what could he do?

Eh.....not much else to comment on today. Tonight at bible study we went over a parable I don't think I've ever read before Luke 18:1-8. The parable of the persistent widow. It was interesting.

Survived Snowpocalypse!

WOW! I have never seen so much snow in my life. Really, I never have, it was a historic snow fall that I just can't hardly believe. Here in Hannibal we definately received 19-21 inches of snow and there are snow drifts several feet high. Thank goodness Allen decided to shovel the drive halfway through this monster of a snow storm. Today it is much less work than it is for some of our neighbors. They called off work last night for Allen and my place of business is closed for today. Allen may have to go to work tonight, and I'm going to try and make it to work tomorrow. Slow and steady will win the race....unfortunately that means I'm going to have to get up really early because I am on the early shift this week. That's ok though, as long as I make it safely.

I hope that everyone else has had as much luck as we have in being safe. Continue to be careful. Drifting will continue to be a problem for a while.

Anything else to report? Well, probably, but with of of this white stuff, all I can think about is the snow! Love you all!
